El Camion

This is a local taco truck that makes authentic and affordable mexican food. The prices are around $8 dollars for a burrito, however the portions are enormous. They serve everything from burritos to tortas and quesadillas.

There is also an covered, outdoor eating area with heaters and foosball to pass the time.

Royal Grinders

Royal Grinders is a small, corner sandwich shop located next to the Lenin statue in Fremont. They offer oven toasted sub sandwiches and panini's for around $8 plus a free can of soda! Here are the directions.

They offer various flavors of gelato. A few interesting ones that we saw were lavender, strawberry jalapeno cream, rose, and marsala wine custard.

We highly recommend their home made style paninis that are oven toasted to perfection with melted cheese and the works! They offer toasted varieties as well as fresh sandwiches which are equally scrumptious. Lastly, the classic "Grinders" are the staple of their fleet of sandwiches and are oven toasted and and served with their home made zesty grinder sauce.

Agua Verde

Agua Verde is a small, local mexican cafe located on Lake Union near the University of Washington. If you are ever in the University District, this is the place to try if you enjoy Mexican cuisine. They offer great food, a casual atmosphere, and great views of Lake Union. This is the ideal lunch spot for a quick lunch, or anybody who is looking for a place to sit and chat.

My favorite part of coming to this restaurant is ordering a basket of tortilla chips and accompanying them with their fresh home-made salsas. In addition to their great food menu, that also serve refreshing margaritas and imported beers.

Agua Verde also offers various menu options for those of us who do not consume meat. This specifically is the the Burrito Vegetariano which served with sauteéd yams, onion and peppers with rice, pintos, spinach and jack cheese.

In addition to the the great food, their prices are also very reasonable. Their lunch option range anywhere from $3.75 for a simple cheese quesadilla to $8.75 for a delicious and filling beef/pork/chicken burrito. However, my personal favorite is the El Patron Torta (sandwich) which is served on a toasted baguette complimented with a perfectly seasoned piece of grilled chicken breast, cucumbers, tomato, red onion, lettuce, cilantro, and avocado sauce. For the rest of the menu options, click on the link provided down below. If you're a newcomer to the area and looking for a local and affordable restaurant, this is a restaurant you must try.

Jai Thai

Jai Thai is a small restraunt located in the heart of Fremont.  They offer a vast array of Thai food at reasonable prices.  Most meals range between $10 and $15 after tip and tax for dinner.  Beverages are expensive but they do offer a full bar.  There is no outdoor seatting although the restraunt does offer floor seatting in the windows overlooking the crowded Fremont streets.  The food is excellent and the service is great.  The restraunt will accomadate groups and offers an ideal setting for dates.  This is a must try restraunt for those who enjoy ethinic food.
